 Goodreads Summary: "Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring… until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something… unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don’t kill him first, that is."

A couple of days ago I had the sudden urge to reread Obsidian.  Like any sane person at 10:00 at night I went to the Overdrive app and checked out the book. When I read the book three years ago I just started reading hardcore and decided to start a blog. Long story short I never written a review on it. This whole series for me is a fast paced easy read. Sometimes I need these kind of books in my life to get me out of a funk. It did just that.

I noticed tons of people saying this is just like Twilight. I understand where they are coming from. I am not about to compare Twilight and the Lux series together because both series meant something to me at the time I read them.  The book provided with a light fluff read, which is what I wanted.  The best part about rereading the book is that I still felt the anticipation even though I already read the book. This time around it was for my favorite events within the book.

All of the characters go through crucial character development throughout the series. This book was great for setting up that and the plots for the rest of the story. However, one thing I did find annoying in this book  and the next book is Daemon's and Kat's relationship as they  struggle not to admit their feelings for each other. At times I wanted to strangle them for this very reason.

There's just something about Armentrout's writing that personally drags me into the story and I can't put the book down. Overall, it is a really great book to read if you don't want something heavy to read. I highly recommend anything by her even though I only have read the Lux series and the first book of the Covenant series Be on the look out for reviews of her books in the future. This a hands four star read. Remember keep looking for you Once Upon A Time.
