A Semester Recap
I feel one of the best ways to grow as person is to reevaluate certain aspects of your life. I want the Spring Semester of 2019 to be my best semester yet. In order for me to be some of what successful I am going to give a quick recap of my semester and then go into what went wrong. I will not discuss my goals for the Spring Semester of 2019 in this post, that will be a post you will see later in the week.

The Hardest Year and Half
It is time for some honesty. I have been a horrible blogger, reviewer, reader, and writer. I have no consistency in the content I create. I feel like I have let so many people down because of my inability to follow through with posts. My response is I am having a hard time, which is not false by any manner. When I started Once Upon A Time A Review my freshman year of high school I was beyond ecstatic. I love reading and I felt like it would be a great way to build my presence, so when I meet my goal of becoming a published author I would have a following. I still want to build my presence for that reason, but I think past me was a little naive. What she didn't realize is going to cyber school would worsen her mental health. It would cause her to lose all motivation to do the things she loved including reading, blogging, writing, and even watching television. She would make all these elaborate plans to post regularly, but after awhile she would start to lose the motivation to do anything. She even thought going to college would be her escape from her depression and anxiety. She thought she would magically develop the skills of time management. Boy was past me wrong.
The lack of motivation has caused me to possess a not useful skill of procrastination; therefore, I have no time management skills. The one thing I know is I thrive with set schedule with no time to slip up. Unfortunately in college a strict schedule doesn't exist and you would think cyber school would have taught me this important skill, no it didn't. College was going to be hard for me no matter what, but I had a lot of personal things happen. Combined with becoming homeless, going through four friend break-ups, a car accident, and another thing. I was a wreck. No correction I am wreck. This past year and a half has been extremely hard for me despite all the amazing things that have happened to me. I am completely shocked that I was able to put myself through three semesters of college semi-successfully.
I know I don't really owe anyone an explanation, but I feel like I do.
Moving forward I want to bring this blog to life again. I am determined to take blogging as serious as a part time job. Starting by changing the name to In My Once Upon A Time. I love the name Once Upon A Time A Review, but it is no longer me. With a title like that I feel required to post only reviews; however, I want to post more than reviews. In the New Year you'll see posts about books, movies, television, time management, college, mental health, and so much more. If there's any posts you want to see comment below. I will posting everyday up until January 4th. You can follow or contact me on social media @chey_ouatar--I am always here if you need someone to talk to--and remember keep searching for your Once Upon A Time.

Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones Review
Title: Wintersong
Author: S. Jae-Jones
Pages: 436
Publication Date: February 7th 2017
Publisher: St. Martin's Press
Add To Goodreads
Synopsis: "Beware the goblin men and the wares they sell.
All her life, nineteen-year-old Liesl has heard tales of the beautiful, mysterious Goblin King. He is the Lord of Mischief, the Ruler Underground, and the muse around which her music is composed. Yet, as Liesl helps shoulder the burden of running her family’s inn, her dreams of composition and childish fancies about the Goblin King must be set aside in favor of more practical concerns.
But when her sister Käthe is taken by the goblins, Liesl journeys to their realm to rescue her sister and return her to the world above. The Goblin King agrees to let Käthe go—for a price. The life of a maiden must be given to the land, in accordance with the old laws. A life for a life, he says. Without sacrifice, nothing good can grow. Without death, there can be no rebirth. In exchange for her sister’s freedom, Liesl offers her hand in marriage to the Goblin King. He accepts.
Down in the Underground, Liesl discovers that the Goblin King still inspires her—musically, physically, emotionally. Yet even as her talent blossoms, Liesl’s life is slowly fading away, the price she paid for becoming the Goblin King’s bride. As the two of them grow closer, they must learn just what it is they are each willing to sacrifice: her life, her music, or the end of the world."
